ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Single-game tickets for the 2008-09 UCF men's basketball campaign at the UCF Arena are scheduled to go on sale Saturday, Nov. 1. The Knights, who feature one of the nation's premier players in guard Jermaine Taylor, will play 16 regular-season contests at the UCF Arena.
Starting Saturday, tickets will be available at all Ticketmaster outlets, on the Internet at Ticketmaster.com and over the phone at (407) 839-3900. Tickets start at only $12.
This season will serve as the Knights' second campaign at the state-of-the-art UCF Arena. The team enjoyed great success at the facility a year ago, claiming 12 victories at home and establishing several attendance records.
UCF opens the regular season in Orlando on Nov. 16 against North Carolina A&T. The home non-conference slate includes a Dec. 6 game with cross-state foe USF. UCF will be hosting the Bulls for the first time since the 2001-02 season. Other home non-league contests for the Knights include Penn (Dec. 29), Sam Houston State (Jan. 3) and Holy Cross (Jan. 3).
The Knights are scheduled to play eight Conference USA games at home, starting with a Jan. 10 tilt with national power Memphis. Tickets for the Memphis game are slated to go on sale at a later date.
Other key C-USA home games for the Knights include Southern Miss (Jan. 21), Marshall (Jan. 25), Houston (Feb. 4) and Tulsa (Feb. 14).
An All-C-USA Preseason Team selection, Taylor enters the year as the nation's 10th-leading returning scorer after averaging 20.8 points per game last season. Head coach Kirk Speraw's program has enjoyed great success in C-USA since joining the league in 2005. The Knights finished fourth in the 12-team conference last season.
Several promotional nights and free giveaways are planned for the season. A new addition to the promotional schedule includes special benefits for Golden Knights Club members. GKC members are encouraged to visit the UCF sports marketing table in the arena lobby before each game to pick up exclusive gifts.
Season tickets are currently available. To order your season tickets today, and to learn more about the Fastbreak Club and other premium seating opportunities, call the UCF ticket sales office at (407) UCF-1000.
The inaugural UCF Postgame Madness is set for Nov. 8, following the UCF-Southern Miss football game. The free event at the UCF Arena includes a chance for fans to choose their season ticket seat location, and an inter-squad scrimmage. Before starting the regular season, the Knights are slated to host Flagler for an exhibition game on Nov. 11.
