TEAM NOTES
- George O'Leary and the UCF coaching staff were wearing arm bands this evening in support of the AFCA's Coach to Cure Muscular Dystrophy program. Coach to Cure MD is a nationwide project designed to build awareness about the disorder and support researchers trying to find a treatment and cure.
- With Joe Burnett's second quarter interception, UCF has now intercepted a pass in 15-consecutive games.
- UCF's 19 points at halftime were a season high, topping its 10 points against both USF and SMU.
- UCF's 19 points in the second quarter were its most in a single quarter since scoring 21 against Tulsa in the second quarter of the Conference USA Championship Game on Dec. 1, 2007.
- Brian Watters' 100-yard receiving game is UCF's first as a team since Kamar Aiken had 122 yards at East Carolina on Oct. 6, 2007.
- Rob Calabrese's 62-yard touchdown pass to Brian Watters was UCF's longest offensive play of the year and the team's longest play overall since Kevin Smith ran for a 74-yard touchdown against Tulsa on Dec. 1, 2007, in the Conference USA Championship Game.
- UCF forced Tulsa to punt on its opening drive. The Knights have held their opponents scoreless on their opening drive in six out of seven games this year and nine of the last 10 overall.
- UCF's safety was its first since Oct. 13, 2007, at USF.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
- Joe Burnett made his 15th career interception tonight, tying him for second place in Conference USA history with Quentin Demps of UTEP. Louisville's Anthony Floyd holds the conference benchmark with 18.
- Daren Daly's 54-yard field goal is UCF's longest of the Football Bowl Subdivision (Division I-A) era and tied for the second-longest in school history. The record is 55 yards by Ed O'Brien against Bethune-Cookman on Sept. 7, 1985. The previous record in the FBS era was a 53-yard boot by Matt Prater at Penn State on Aug. 31, 2002.
- Brian Watters had his second career two-touchdown receiving game tonight. He also caught a pair of scores against Marshall last year. He also had his first career 100-yard receiving game tonight.
- The 62-yard touchdown pass from Rob Calabrese to Brian Watters was the longest play of either's career.
- Brynn Harvey made his first career start today at tailback, and John Lubischer and Kyle Madden both earned their first starts of their careers at tight end. With these three additions, 43 active Knights have now started a game in their respective UCF careers.
- Adam Nissley made his first career start as a right tackle. His six previous starts have been at tight end.
- Antonio Wallace made his first start of the season today at defensive end.
