ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF will kick off the men's and women's basketball campaigns on Nov. 8 with exhibitions in the new UCF Arena both before and after the UCF-Southern Miss Homecoming football game.
The men's team will host the inaugural UCF Postgame Madness will take place after the game with free t-shirts and pizza plus the first look at the 2008-09 Knights. The free event, which will be held following the football game, is slated to start around 7 p.m. and will include an inter-squad scrimmage and an opportunity to select your season ticket location for the upcoming season.
Following the conclusion of the football game, fans are encouraged to walk to the new UCF Arena and enter the building's front lobby.
Highlights of UCF Postgame Madness include:
? The first chance to see the 2008-09 Knights as they scrimmage in front of the public for the first time

? An autograph session with the men's and women's basketball teams following the scrimmage

The Knights are scheduled to open the regular season on Nov. 16, hosting North Carolina A&T at the new UCF Arena. UCF will play 16 contests at home this year, including a matchup with cross-state foe USF and a Conference USA showdown with national power Memphis.
UCF is led by one of the nation's premier players in senior guard Jermaine Taylor (Tavares, Fla.). A member of the All-C-USA Preseason Team, he averaged 20.8 points per game in 2007-08. This season will serve as head coach Kirk Speraw's 16th campaign at UCF.
Prior to the football game, fans have the opportunity to support the women's basketball team with the first chance to see Joi Williams' Knights. UCF will play host to DT3, a mix of former collegiate players, at 11 a.m.
The women's basketball team will also begin its season on Nov. 16, playing a non-conference game at Colorado at 4 p.m. The Knights' home opener will take place on Friday, Nov. 21 when Florida A&M visits the new UCF Arena.
