UCF Men's Soccer Travels to No. 16 Tulsa for C-USA Showdown

ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The UCF men's soccer team hits the road for its most important game of the season Friday, playing at 16th-ranked Tulsa at 9:35 p.m. With a victory, the Knights can move into a tie with the Golden Hurricane for first place in Conference USA season. UCF is currently 6-6-0 overall and 3-1-0 in C-USA action while Tulsa is 8-3-1 with a 4-0-0 mark in league play.

"It is exciting because we have are in a position to play an important game in the conference race," said UCF head coach Bryan Cunningham. "Tulsa is a talented squad with an impressive resume this season. We will need to be focused on our game plan and play with confidence to give ourselves the opportunity to win."

UCF suffered a difficult loss to another ranked foe on Tuesday, falling to 12th-ranked USF 1-0 in overtime. The Knights have fared well against their stiffest competition this season, with a 2-1 double overtime loss to then ninth-ranked Ohio State on Aug. 31.

Tulsa enters the game having won six-straight contests after starting the season 2-3-1. The Golden Hurricane most recently defeated Marshall 3-0 on Saturday, Oct. 11.

Freshman Kevan George (Decatur, Ga.) tallied his first assist of the season on Yaron Bacher's score on Saturday. George leads the team with four goals and nine points while Bacher, an Atlanta, Ga. native, has a team-leading three helpers.

Austin Neil leads Tulsa in goals with five and points with 12. Ashley McGinnis has a team-high four assists.

The Knights will be looking for their first all-time win against the Golden Hurricane. Tulsa leads the all-time series with the Knights 4-0-0, including a 2-1 victory last season on Oct. 21, 2007, in Orlando.
