(UCFAthletics.com) - When the UCF men's basketball team opens its 2008-09 schedule at the new UCF Arena on Nov. 16, there will be no better way to catch the dazzling dunks, 3-pointers and big-time opponents than by joining the Fastbreak Club. The Knights are slated to play 16 games at the new UCF Arena this season. The schedule includes visits from cross-state foe USF and national power Memphis.
Head coach Kirk Speraw's team is led by one of the country's top offensive players in senior guard Jermaine Taylor. A candidate for the Conference USA Player of the Year award, he averaged 20.8 points per game last year. Taylor was recently selected to the All-C-USA Preseason Team.
The Knights made their debut at the new UCF Arena a year ago. UCF set a school single-season attendance record in 2007-08 as the arena quickly became one of the nation's top college basketball venues.
