ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF men's golf team has headed to California to participate in one of the nation's premier events - The Prestige at PGA WEST. The two-day, 16-team tournament begins Monday in La Quinta, Calif.

Teams will play 36 holes Monday and 18 Tuesday at the Greg Norman Course at PGA WEST.

The event is hosted by UC Davis and Stanford. Six participating squads are ranked in the top-30 nationally according to Golfweek: Washington (4), Stanford (12), Michigan State (17), California (21), Pepperdine (25) and Colorado (3).

The Knights have not been in action since Sept. 19-21, when they competed at the Olympia Fields Illini Invitational in Illinois. The Prestige at PGA WEST will serve as the squad's third event of the season.

Seniors Greg Forest (Palm City, Fla.) and David Johnson (Palm Bay, Fla.), juniors Mike Stern (Miami, Fla.) and Simon Ward (County Monagahn, Ireland) and redshirt freshman Brad Schneider (Valrico, Fla.) are set to play for UCF in California. Stern will be making his season debut.
