ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - A pair of former UCF rowers are busy on the water this summer, working with their respective national teams. Krystina Sarff is currently training with the United States Senior National Team and Caitlin Pauls is in action with the Canadian U23 National Team.
Both Knights concluded their collegiate careers this spring.
Sarff is competing for a spot on the U.S. boat at the 2008 FISA World Senior Championships. The event will be held in Austria in July. The national team is holding its camp in Charlottesville, Va. Sarff is one of 22 individuals training on the University of Virginia campus.
Earlier this week, Sarff was named to the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Pocock All-America First Team for the second-consecutive year. Sarff also earned a spot on the CRCA All-South Region First Team Pauls is hoping to secure a spot on Canada's boat at the 2008 FISA World U23 Championships in July in Germany. She is training in Ontario.
In the spring, Sarff and Pauls were two of the eight Knights who earned CRCA National Scholar-Athlete recognition.
Both Pauls and Sarff were members of UCF's varsity 8+ boat.
