Speraw to Appear on National Radio Program

June 6, 2008

ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - With the professional season almost over, many media outlets are turning their attention to the National Basketball Association Draft, which is set for June 26. UCF head coach Kirk Speraw will be talking about the draft and the Knights' program this weekend on a nationally-syndicated radio show.

Each episode of Pro Football Weekly, which airs in 135 markets, features a segment on pro basketball. Speraw will appear on the show during the basketball segment and speak to host Hub Akrush and current Los Angeles Lakers assistant coach Jim Cleamons.

Speraw's Knights were one of just four teams in the country this past season that played against the draft's two potential top picks - forward Michael Beasley of Kansas State and guard Derrick Rose of Memphis. UCF faced the toughest schedule in school history during the 2007-08 campaign. Ten of the squad's opponents were selected to play in the postseason, with four participating in the NCAA Tournament.

One of the most tenured coaches in the country, Speraw is entering his 16th campaign at UCF.
