UCF Fastbreak - March 25

March 25, 2008

ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Although UCF's 2007-08 campaign ended on March 13, another "season" for the Knights is set to begin today. Returning team members will participate in the first of seven individual workout sessions on Tuesday afternoon.

NCAA rules allow teams to practice four two hours per week following the completion of the season. All returning players can participate in the practices and all four of the team's coaches can be present.

Head coach Kirk Speraw expects his players to use the sessions to get better on their individual skills.

"This is a chance for our returning players to get better and work on improving certain aspects of their games. Individual workouts allow the guys to focus on some of the areas that need improvement through drills and on-court instruction."

Following the Conference USA Championship, Speraw gave his team the week off, but several players visited the Wayne Densch Sports Center to lift weights.

During the four weeks of individual workouts, players will lift weights three days per week. Speraw also expects squad members to play pickup games several times per week as well.
