Knights Back in Action at Hootie at Bulls Bay

AWENDAW, S.C. (www.ucfathletics.com) - After 18 holes of play at the Hootie at Bulls Bay, junior Greg Forest (Palm City, Fla./Martin County) of the UCF men's golf team is tied for seventh in the individual standings at one-under 70. The 18th-ranked Knights are tied for 10th following Sunday's opening round at the Bulls Bay Golf Club.

Play at the three-day, 54-hole tournament will continue on Monday. The tournament features six teams ranked in the top-20 nationally.

UCF posted a 281 (+7) on Sunday and is tied with College of Charleston and Wake Forest. The three squads are just one stroke behind LSU and Virginia Tech, who are tied for eighth.

No. 15 South Carolina (280, -4) leads the event, followed by Augusta State (284, E).

Forest is one of two Knights in the top 25 in the individual standings. Sophomore Nico Donaldson (Windermere, Fla./Olympia) is tied for 22nd at one-over 72. Donaldson is competing for the first time this season.

Senior Giwon Suh (Orlando, Fla./Olympia) is tied for 43rd after the first round at three-over 73. Junior David Johnson (Palm Bay, Fla./Melbourne) is one of six players tied for 53rd (75, +4). Sophomore Mike Stern (Miami, Fla./Killian) posted an 82 (+11) and is in 74th.

Lamar's Justin Harding carded a four-under 67 on Sunday and leads the field.

UCF was in action for the first time since Feb. 26, when the Knights claimed the team title at the UCF Rio Pinar Invitational in Orlando.
