? The Knights improved to 3-0 against the Owls in Houston since the programs joined Conference USA prior to the 2005-06 campaign.
? Jermaine Taylor paced all players with 22 points. He has led the Knights in scoring 20 of UCF's 24 games this season.
? During the contest, Taylor moved to 13th on UCF's all-time scoring list. He has 1,046 points as a Knight. He passed Sinua Phillips, who scored 1,028 points from 1990-94.
? This year, Taylor has scored at least 19 points in nine of the Knights' 10 Conference USA contests.
? Mike O'Donnell totaled three assists against the Owls and now has 303 for his career, which ranks fifth on UCF's career register. During the game, he passed Bo Clark. Clark dished out 302 assists during the 1970s.
? In 11 minutes off of the bench, Andre Thornton scored six points. He went 4-of-4 at the free-throw line. The four makes were good for a career-high.
? Dave Noel's seven assists matched a season high. He also dished out seven against Long Island on Dec. 31.
? UCF was playing the second of three games in the Houston-area this season. The squad played a non-league game at nearby Sam Houston State in early January and will face Houston on March 5.
? Due to renovations at Autry Court, the Owls on-campus facility, Rice is playing its home games at a pair of sites in the Houston area this season. Reliant Arena is located next to Reliant Stadium, the home of the National Football league's Houston Texas, and the AstroDome.
? The contest served as a homecoming for UCF's Chip Cartwright. The backup point guard is a Houston native.
? Cartwright scored four points in 14 minutes off of the bench.
