ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - After facing the most challenging non-conference schedule in program history, the UCF men's basketball team will play its inaugural Conference USA game inside the new UCF Arena on Saturday, hosting Tulsa. The Knights are slated to play eight league games inside the state-of-the-art facility this year and UCF fans can watch all of the exciting action by purchasing the new C-USA Pack ticket deal.
The package, which is now available by calling 407-UCF-1000, includes tickets to all eight C-USA games.
In 2006-07, head coach Kirk Speraw's Knights enjoyed playing their league games at home, going 7-1 against conference foes in Orlando. UCF finished second in the 12-team conference and Speraw earned C-USA Coach of the Year honors following the regular season.
In addition to hosting Tulsa this year, the Knights will also face UTEP (Jan. 23), UAB (Jan. 30), Houston (Feb. 2), Marshall (Feb. 6), East Carolina (Feb. 20), Tulane (Feb. 27) and Rice (March 1) at home in league action.
The UCF Athletics Association is also offering a Slam Dunk Pack, which includes tickets to four C-USA contests: Tulsa, UAB, Houston and Rice. The package also includes a ticket to the UCF women's contest with East Carolina, which will be played on Feb. 2 prior to the men's game with Houston.
In its inaugural campaign inside the new UCF Arena, the Knights are 6-2 in Orlando. The facility features a state-of-the-art scoreboard with four video screens, numerous concession options and comfortable seats that provide great views of the game action.
