UCF Fastbreak - Dec. 24

Dec. 24, 2007

ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Head coach Kirk Speraw's team better enjoy Monday. After today, it will be nothing but practices and games for the Knights, who will begin a stretch of three contests in four days on Friday.

The Knights host Connecticut on Friday and will then have little time to rest as they welcome Long Island, NJIT and Texas-Pan Am for the UCF Holiday Classic, which begins on Sunday. The two-day tournament concludes on Dec. 31.

UCF players have been off since Wednesday. The team will practice at the new UCF Arena on Tuesday evening.

The Knights are no strangers to busy stretches. Last December, the team played three contests in three days at the San Juan Shootout in Puerto Rico.

The Connecticut game is part of a special holiday ticket package that the UCF Athletics Association is currently offering.

For $25, fans will receive tickets to the Connecticut contest and for both of UCF's games at the UCF Holiday Classic (Dec. 30-31). The holiday package provides fans with a $10 discount as tickets to these three contests usually cost $35.

Fans should call 407-UCF-1000 to purchase the ticket package.

Tip-off for Friday's game is slated for 8 p.m. as the game will air live nationally on CSTV.

Notes: Two of the teams that UCF has already faced in non-league play are currently ranked in the Associated Press Top 25 poll. Villanova is 18th and Ole Miss is 22nd... UCF will meet Sam Houston State in January and the Bearkats are currently garnering three votes in the AP poll.
