ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The Knights practiced for two hours on Wednesday morning at the new UCF Arena. Head coach Kirk Speraw's squad will now have five days off for Christmas.
UCF's next contest is at home against traditional power Connecticut on Dec. 28. The game will be televised live nationally on CSTV.
The Knights will return to campus on Christmas Day for an evening practice in preparation for the contest with the Huskies, who are 7-2 in 2007-08.
On Wednesday, the team worked on basketball basics, including fastbreaks, halfcourt offense and defensive rebounding. The squad also participated in a brief scrimmage.
The UCF Athletics Association is offering a special holiday ticket package. For $25, the package includes tickets to three UCF contests at the new arena, highlighted by the Connecticut game.
