ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - With the fall semester behind it, the UCF baseball program learned Tuesday that it reached its goal of completing the term with a team grade-point average of at least a 3.0. The Knights finished with a 3.1 GPA, with 23 student-athletes earning a spot on the UCF academic honor roll.
"Our team had another excellent semester achieving their goal of having a 3.0 or better," said associate head coach Craig Cozart. "Once again, Jennifer Alger, the team's academic advisor, has done a great job preparing our guys to be successful in the classroom. The leadership within this team has certainly raised the standard of expectations for performance on and off the field, and we are excited for the spring to bring even more success."
The 23 Knights who posted a GPA of at least a 3.0 were: Colin Arnold, Dwayne Bailey, Stephen Branca, Nick Choto, Paul Cinder, Brennan Dobbins, Carmine Giardina, Jaager Good, Matt Goodyear, Caleb Graham, Mitch Houck, Austin Hudson, Matt Lambert, Matt Manning, Kyle Mills, Ryan Richardson, Brandon Romans, Tim Russell, Josh Siebenaler, Kyle Sweat, Kiko Vazquez, Cory Weech and Justin Weiss.
When the spring semester begins in January, UCF also will start looking ahead to the season-opener Feb. 22 when the Black and Gold host Florida A&M in a three-game series at Jay Bergman Field.
