RENO, Nev. (www.ucfathletics.com) - On Friday, senior guard Mike O'Donnell (Largo, Fla./Largo) was absent from a UCF event. The word miss is rarely associated with O'Donnell, who has started all 70 games for the Knights at point guard since transferring from NC State after the 2003-04 campaign.
On Friday, O'Donnell was not present at the new UCF Arena for commencement ceremonies. The point guard earned his bachelor's degree in interpersonal/organizational communications.
The Knights were out of town on Friday, heading west for a contest with Nevada. O'Donnell made his 70th-consecutive start in the game. Nevada pulled away late in the second half to post an 86-74 victory.
Former UCF star Josh Peppers, who played for the Knights from 2003-07, also earned his degree on Friday. Peppers is currently playing professionally in Japan.
UCF will have a long break before its next game. The Knights are slated to host traditional power Connecticut on Dec. 28 at the new UCF Arena.
Single-game tickets are available at all Ticketmaster outlets and at the UCF ticket office at Bright House Networks Stadium.
Season tickets are still available by calling 407-UCF-1000. For the latest news and information on the Knights, tickets or apparel log on to www.UCFAthletics.com - the official site for UCF varsity sports. Also check out UCFPhotos.com, the exclusive fan source for UCF action sports photos.
