Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The UCF softball team will compete for the final time this fall when it hosts its 2007 Alumni Game Saturday morning and its final UCF Fall Tournament Sunday. Both events are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. at the UCF Softball Complex.
Saturday's event will feature the 2007-08 Knights and an alumni squad made up of seven players that played in the NCAA Regional in 2005. Alumni scheduled to compete Saturday include: Cici Alvarez (2004-07), Stephanie Best (2002-05), Lindsay Enders (2004-05), Kacie Feaster (2004-07), Amber Lamb (2004-07), Bryttani Lindheim (2004-05), Jania Shinhoster (2002-05) and Jennifer Whitley (2003-04).
Sunday, the Black and Gold welcome Rollins College, Florida CC - Jacksonville and Santa Fe CC to the UCF Softball Complex. UCF opens the event at 10 a.m. against Rollins, before facing FCCJ at 1 p.m. and SFCC at 3 p.m.
The Knights are 8-0-1 this fall after hosting three tournaments since mid-October, getting significant contributions from newcomers Tiffany Lane (Moreno Valley, Calif.), Abby McClain (Waterloo, Iowa), Marquita Council (Orlando, Fla.) and Brittany Hipple (Venice, Fla.).
