ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - UCF men's basketball head coach Kirk Speraw will be on hand at the Student Union on Wednesday to raise awareness about the Knights' inaugural game at the new UCF Arena against Nevada. Speraw's team opens the 10,000-seat facility on Sunday against the Wolf Pack at 2 p.m.
On Wednesday, Speraw will appear inside the Student Union at 12:30 p.m. to discuss the upcoming season with UCF students. Students are admitted free to all home games with a valid school ID.
Speraw is entering his 15th season at UCF. Last year, the Knights went 22-9 overall and finished second in Conference USA. Following the regular season, Speraw was named the league's coach of the year.
UCF returns nine letterwinners and three starters from last season's squad.
The Knights will play 16 regular-season contests inside the state-of-the-art new UCF Arena in 2007-08. In addition to Nevada, nationally-recognized programs like Ole Miss and Connecticut are set to visit Orlando.
Season tickets are currently available by calling 407-UCF-1000. One lucky season ticket holder will get to drive home from the new UCF Arena in a brand new 2008 UCF edition Mazda CX-9, courtesy of Classic Mazda, the presenting sponsor of this year's season ticket drive. UCF fans who purchase two season tickets be automatically entered into a drawing to win the Mazda CX-9.
Single-game tickets are also now on sale at all Ticketmaster outlets and at the UCF ticket office at Bright House Networks Stadium.
