ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Single-game tickets for the 2007-08 UCF men's basketball campaign are scheduled to go on sale on Thursday, Nov. 1. The Knights will play 16 regular-season contests at the 10,000-seat new UCF Arena this season, including non-league games against Connecticut, Nevada and Ole Miss.
Tickets will be available at all Ticketmaster outlets, on the Internet at www.ticketmaster.com, over the phone at 407-839-3900 and in person at the UCF ticket office at Bright House Networks Stadium.
The Knights open the regular season campaign at home on Nov. 11 against national power Nevada in the inaugural game at the state-of-the-art new UCF Arena. Last season, Nevada went 29-5 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Head coach Kirk Speraw's Knights recorded a 22-9 mark in 2006-07 and finished second in Conference USA. Following the regular season, Speraw was named the league's coach of the year. Nine letterwinners, including three starters, are back from last year's squad.
UCF hosts Ole Miss on Dec. 8. The Rebels went 21-13 last year and claimed the Southeastern Conference Western Division championship. Connecticut will face UCF in Orlando on Dec. 28. The Huskies claimed the national title in 2004 and won 17 contests a year ago.
Single-game tickets for the Nevada, Ole Miss, Connecticut and all C-USA games are priced at $15. Tickets for all other games cost $10. The Knights will play eight C-USA contests in Orlando, including matchups with Houston and UAB.
The new arena features several top amenities, including a scoreboard with four video screens and numerous concession options. The building officially opened in September.
Dating back to the start of the 2002-03 campaign, the Knights have won 106 games, a mark that ranks 31st nationally and second among all programs in the state of Florida.
Season tickets are also currently available by calling 407-UCF-1000. One lucky season ticket holder will get to drive home from the new UCF Arena in a brand new 2008 UCF edition Mazda CX-9, courtesy of Classic Mazda, the presenting sponsor of this year's season ticket drive. UCF fans who purchase two season tickets be entered into a drawing to win the Mazda CX-9.
