ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - UCF men's basketball head coach Kirk Speraw will address UCF students on Friday evening at the UCF Late Knights event at the Student Union. The event, which is sponsored by the UCF Office of Student Involvement, begins at 9 p.m.
Speraw will speak to the students about the Knights upcoming campaign, which features 16 regular-season home games at the 10,000-seat new UCF Arena. UCF opens the slate on Nov. 11, hosting Nevada. In addition to the Wolf Pack, several top teams will visit Orlando in 2007-08, including Ole Miss and Connecticut.
The Knights went 22-9 overall last year and finished second in Conference USA. Following the regular season, Speraw was named the league's coach of the year. UCF returns nine letterwinners and three starters from a year ago.
Late Knights is a monthly event providing free food and giveaways to students. The program usually attracts over 2,000 students per month.
Season tickets are currently available by calling 407-UCF-1000. One lucky season ticket holder for will get to drive home from the new UCF Arena in a brand new Mazda CX-9, courtesy of Classic Mazda, the presenting sponsor of this year's season ticket drive. UCF fans who purchase two season tickets be entered into a drawing to win the Mazda CX-9.
