No. 6 UCF Lightweight Rowers Take Fourth in IRA Championship Petite Final

June 2, 2007

CAMDEN, N.J. (www.UCFAthletics.com) - The No. 6 ranked UCF lightweight eight capped of its season with a fourth-place showing in the petite final at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) Championships on Saturday afternoon.

The Knights' boat, which featured coxswain Tori Ryan, Lauren Schueler, Michelle Carter, Megan Mitchell, Taylor Wiatt, Morgan Bell, Kathleen Noble, Kathryn Harness and Celeste Brown, finished with a time of 7:10.53. MIT won the petite final in 7:02.75.

Because the NCAA does not sponsor a championship in the lightweight division, the IRA regatta is considered to be the national championship for the sport. The grand final was won by Bucknell.
