Megan Mitchell enters her first season as a graduate assistant coach for UCF after spending the last three years as a member of the Knights[apos] lightweight eight boat. Here is a look at her career highlights.
2006-07: Served as captain of the lightweight crew...rowed with the nationally ranked lightweight eight throughout the season...took first at the Head of the Hooch...won the varsity four race at the Metro Cup...placed third in the varsity eight event at the Petrakis Cup...finished second at Princeton...beat Loyola Marymount at the Windermere Real Estate Classic...earned a fourth-place showing in the petite final at the IRA Championship.
2005-06: Rowed two seat for the lightweight eight...earned the Metro Cup title, then defeated Villanova at the Rollins Invitational...claimed victories over Georgia and Jacksonville at the Rollins Tri-Meet....took fifth place at the Knecht Cup...won the title at the Pacific Coast Rowing Championships.
2004-05: Was a member of the varsity lightweight team...placed first at the Rollins Invitational and FIRA Championship...earned second at the Rollins Tri-Meet...finished seventh at the Head of the Hooch.
2003-04: Rowed with the novice team...took fifth in the novice eight at the FIRA Championship...was second in the second novice eight at the SIRA Championship.
Prior to UCF: Graduated from Winter Springs High School in 2002...a three-sport athlete...played second base and centerfield on the softball team...squad went undefeated during junior year...also ran cross country and participated in weightlifting...team won the conference and state championship in weightlifting senior year.
Personal: Born in Winter Park, Fla....daughter of Jim and Linda Mitchell...major is sports and fitness.
