Orlando, Fla.(www.ucfathletics.com) - After winning two games against Tulsa last weekend, UCF (24-14, 4-5 C-USA) will travel to Tallahassee, Fla. on March 28 to take on Florida State (23-14, 2-4 ACC) in a non-conference doubleheader. Game one is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.

Previewing Florida State

The Seminoles enter Wednesday's contest with a 23-14 mark on the season, recording wins against teams such as No. 12 Washington, No. 18 Southern Illinois, No. 21 Nebraska and No. 25 Virginia Tech. Florida State is led in most offense categories by two-time NFCA All-American, Veronica Wootson. The senior infielder is tops in batting average (.368), runs scored (35), hits (43), doubles (9), total bases (74), slugging percentage (.632), on-base percentage (.436) and stolen bases (22). This will be the 10th meeting between the two teams with FSU leading the series 8-1.

Remember When...

May 2, 2006 marked the last meeting between the Golden Knights and the Seminoles, with FSU taking the decision, 8-2. Amber Lamb paced the offense for UCF going 1-for-3, getting both RBI for the Black and Gold. Kayla Collins was credited with the win in the circle for the Seminoles, allowing only two runs on five hits, while striking out eight. Magon Paul got the loss, surrendering seven runs on eight hits in 4.2 innings of work.

Moving on Up

With two wins over Tulsa last weekend, the Golden Knights moved up two spots in the Conference USA standings to fifth place.

Mother Nature

Allison Kime (13-6) tamed the Golden Hurricane in two outings last weekend, pitching two complete games and not allowing a single earned run. The junior recorded her seventh shutout of the season on Saturday, striking out seven of Tulsa's first eight batters on her way to a 10-strikeout performance.

Droppin' Bombs

Kacie Feaster hit two home runs in Saturday's second outing totaling two of UCF's four RBI in the game. Five of Feaster's seven home runs have come in the first inning.

First of Many

Hillary Barrow hit the first home run of her collegiate career on March 25 against Tulsa to help the Black and Gold to a 7-1 victory. The freshman's dinger upped the Golden Knights' total on the season to 13.

Big Sticks

Eight of UCF's 12 batters recorded at least one hit in Sunday's win over Tulsa, with Breanne Javier leading all batters with three hits on the day.

K is for Kime

Following the Golden Knights' two Conference USA wins last weekend, Allison Kime moved into second place on UCF's career record charts for strikeouts with 364 in her two years at UCF. The fire-baller is 40 strikeouts away from surpassing Dottie Cupp, who currently sits at the No. 1 spot with 403.

Golden Streak

Kacie Feaster is currently on a 10-game hitting streak going into Wednesday's doubleheader against Florida State. The senior's streak began on March 15 against Bethune-Cookman when she cranked out two hits in the first game of the doubleheader. Since then, the centerfielder has had five multi-hit games, including a 3-for-3 performance in the second game vs. Bethune-Cookman when she was a single shy of hitting for the cycle in the first inning.

This is Why We're Hot

UCF is 22-4 when its opponents score two or less runs in a contest and are 20-0 when they lead after the sixth inning. The Black and Gold has outscored its opponents 14-2 in the seventh inning this season.

I am No. 1

Allison Kime currently ranks No. 1 in Conference USA with a 0.19 ERA against league teams and in overall ERA with a 0.85 mark. Lexi Gresham joins Kime at the top of the list allowing only nine walks in 2007.

Top Ten

Kacie Feaster launched herself into the top ten in eight different offensive categories in Conference USA. She currently ranks second in total bases (76), third in stolen bases (12), fourth in hits (45), triples (2) and home runs (7), sixth in slugging percentage (.623), eighth in runs scored (25), and ninth in batting average (.369).

Hot in the Five Spot

Allison Kime holds a .429 (12-for-28) batting average with a double, a home run and six RBI, while batting fifth in the line-up,

This Day in UCF History

The Golden Knights have a 1-1 record on March 28 in their short five-year history. Back in 2002, UCF split two contests at the Rebel Games in Kissimmee, Fla., with a 4-2 victory against Towson and a 5-4 loss to Iona.

Weekend Warrior

Breanne Javier has proved her worth against Conference USA competition this season as she helped herself to first place in conference play in doubles with four, hits with 13 and fourth place with a .448 batting average.

Stepping Up Their Game

UCF's record is not the only thing that is getting an overhaul in 2007, as the Golden Knights' three seniors have already surpassed a few of their overall stats from 2006. Kacie Feaster has scored 25 runs in 2007, compared to 20 all of last season. The centerfielder also surpassed her home run mark of five last year with seven this season. Amber Lamb leads the Knights in doubles with 12 this season, up four from her 2006 total. Lamb has also tied her RBI total with 19. Cici Alvarez tops Conference USA when it comes to moving a runner over as she has already notched 20 sacrifice hits on the season, adding four to her total from a year ago.

UCF vs. the Atlantic Coast Conference

Boston College 2-0 W, 4-1 (2006) Florida State 1-8 L, 8-2 (2006) Georgia Tech 1-1 L, 8-0 (2005) North Carolina 0-1 L, 4-0 (2004) Virginia Tech 0-1 L, 2-1 (2007)

Doing What I Do Best

Cici Alvarez has already guarenteed herself at least a third-place finish in the UCF record books for sacrifice hits in a season. The third baseman already holds the top three spots, and needs only seven more sacrifice hits to beat her mark set in 2005 when she had 26.
