UCF Women's Golf Climbs Two Spots After Second Rou

Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The UCF women's golf team climbed two spots in the overall standings following the second round of the 35th annual Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic on Saturday. The Golden Knights, who are tied for 15th overall, had three golfers improve their scores from round one to round two as the team shot a 308 (+24), which was an 11-stroke improvement from the opening round.

Auburn held onto the team lead for the second consecutive day as the Tigers (592, +24) hold a five-shot lead on fellow Southeastern Conference foe Arkansas (597, +29). Like Auburn in the team standings, LSU's Melissa Eaton is a top the individual leaderboard for the second straight day. Eaton has a two-round total of 143 (+1), which is one shot clear of Virginia's Leah Wigger (144, +2).

Freshman Sara Hurwitch (Potomac Falls, Va./Dominion) posted the team's best round for the second straight day as she turned in a 75 (+4). Her round included a pair of birdies.

Sophomore Stephanie Connelly (Pasadena, Md./The Pendleton School) turned in a four-shot improvement from Friday's round as she carded a 76 (+5), including birdies on No. 12 and No. 9, her finishing hole for the day.

Freshman Leigh Crosby (Athens, Ga./Oconee) had the best improvement from the first round, shooting a 77 (+6) in her home town after posting an 83 (+12) on Friday.

Crosby's classmate Victoria Tomko (Lontzen, Belgium/Bradenton Academy) also lowered her first-round score by four strokes in round two, posting an 80 (+9) to round out the four scorers for the Knights.
