Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - Three two-out RBI was all Stetson needed Wednesday in a 3-2 victory over the UCF softball team. The Hatters (6-2) were able to survive a seventh-inning rally by the Golden Knights (11-8) in order to preserve the win.

Senior Kacie Feaster finished with three hits and a RBI to pace UCF. Meanwhile, Allison Kime (5-5) took the loss, pitching her 10th complete game of the season and striking out five. Amber Lamb completed the evening 0-for-3, ending her impressive 11-game hitting streak.

Stetson wasted little time in taking an early 1-0 lead, picking up a RBI single by Andrea Migliori in the top of the first off Kime. In the circle for the Hatters, Erica Demers was proving to be a difficult challenge for the Golden Knights. After she gave up a leadoff single to Feaster and a walk to Cici Alvarez in UCF's half of the first inning, Demers retired the next 14 batters before Hillary Barrow recorded a two-out infield single in the fifth.

As Stetson was keeping UCF at bay offensively, Andrea Migliori stretch the lead even further, sending a two-out, two-run home run to left center in the sixth to provide the Hatters with a 3-0 advantage. The Black and Gold began to put some pressure on Demers in the bottom of the sixth, picking up back-to-back singles from Feaster and Alvarez to start the frame. Lamb, though, flied out to center fielder Amy Joyce, who fired to third to get Feaster attempting to advance from second for the double play. Kime ended the sixth when she flied out to right.

The Knights tried again in final inning, loading the bases with just one out for Ashley Van Ryn. After falling behind in the count 0-2, Van Ryn flied out to center but it was deep enough to score pinch-runner Jennifer Tomasetti from third. Now with two down, Feaster came through again with her third hit of the night, placing a single into right center, allowing Megan Murphy to touch home. With the tying run at second, Alvarez was induced to fly out to left, locking up the one-run victory for the Hatters.

UCF gets right back to work Thursday when it hosts a doubleheader with Eastern Michigan at 2:30 p.m. at the UCF Softball Complex. For the latest news and information on the Golden Knights, tickets or apparel log on to www.ucfathletics.com - the official site for UCF athletics.
