Dec. 13, 2006

NEW YORK, N.Y. (www.ucfathletics.com) - UCF women's soccer players Roberta Pelarigo (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and Nikki Moore (Virginia Beach, Va./Cape Henry Collegiate School) were named to the Soccer Buzz All-Southeast Region teams, the website announced on Wednesday.

It marked the second consecutive year that Pelarigo earned a spot on the Soccer Buzz All-Southeast Region second team. A highly decorated senior forward, she captured All-Conference USA first team recognition for the second consecutive year and was also named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Southeast Region second team. She recorded a team-high nine goals - including four game-winners - and five assists for 23 points. After scoring three goals in the weekend series at Rice and Houston, Pelarigo was named NSCAA National Player of the Week.

A defender who played in all of the team's 19 matches, Moore was named to the Soccer Buzz All-Southeast Region freshman team. She helped anchor a UCF defense that earned five shutouts and posted a 1.02 GAA. She notched her first collegiate point as an assist on classmate Hanna Wilde's goal at Houston. For her efforts, she earned both All-C-USA second team and freshman team recognition.

The Golden Knights (11-6-2, 7-1-1 C-USA) finished second in Conference USA during the regular season before earning the No. 2 seed in the 2006 C-USA Championship, where they lost to eventual tournament champion UAB in the quarterfinals.
