ATLANTA (www.ucfathletics.com) - Three UCF men's basketball games will be televised live on Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast (CSS) this season. CSS is a 24-hour regional sports network serving approximately 5.5 million cable subscribers across 12 southeastern states.
Two UCF home games will be shown live on CSS. The Golden Knights' Conference USA contest against Memphis on Wednesday, Jan. 31 will now start at 7 p.m. to accommodate the broadcast. UCF's league matchup with Marshall on Saturday, Feb. 10 has been moved to a noon tip-off.
UCF's first C-USA game of the season, at UAB on Wednesday, Jan. 10, will also be aired on CSS. Tip-off in Birmingham, Ala. is slated for 9 p.m. Eastern.
Fourteen men's basketball games featuring C-USA teams have been licensed to CSS by CSTV. CSS is also scheduled to carry the Nov. 25 football game between UAB and UCF from the Florida Citrus Bowl.
This season, the Golden Knights will also have a pair of games televised live nationally on CSTV. UCF's contest at UTEP on Saturday, Jan. 27 and the squad's home tilt versus Southern Miss on Wednesday, Feb. 21 will both air on the network.
UCF is entering its second season in C-USA. Head coach Kirk Speraw's team went 14-15 overall and 7-7 in league play to finish fifth in the conference in 2005-06.
The Golden Knights have an exhibition game against St. Leo at the UCF Arena on Thursday, Nov. 9 at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free to the preseason game. UCF opens the regular season at home against cross-town opponent Rollins on Wednesday, Nov. 15 at 7:30 p.m.
