UCF head coach George O'Leary

"Somebody had to win this game and I'm glad that we did. Again that's why you play 60 minutes. We made some plays when we had to make the plays. It was an ugly game from a defensive stand point; we didn't make tackles very well and didn't stop anybody."

"I think both offenses were able to put points on the board. I was happy to see our kicker, who has had a lot of troubles making his kicks, making the one that made the game."

"A good conference win against a good Marshall team. Marshall can win a lot of games in this conference, I can see that."

"We were able to use both quarterbacks tonight and that is something I'll continue to do that because I think we need to do things like that so we have two guys that can call signals and make big plays."

"We got to work on our red zone offense. We're down there too many times and just coming away with three points."

"It was a good win and those are the kind of games you have to win on the road. It was a great win for our program from an attitude stand point, and hopefully carries into our next game."

On the game-winning drive:

"I told them we're running the two-minute (offense) and we had two timeouts. It felt like we had an eternity out there. Steven (Moffett) made the play he had to make on fourth down to keep going. With three minutes you don't have to rush and with those timeouts, we could talk it out."

On second half defense:

"It was the same to me as the first half except we just stopped tackling. Their running backs did a good job, but we didn't make some tackles. Their quarterback was good and we didn't play very well defensively I think. We were way too short on coverage and too much grabbing instead of tackling."

On the offensive play:

"I told my offensive coaches, the last one with the ball is going to win here. Neither team really stopped anybody but instead stopped themselves."

"I thought we moved the ball from the 20 to the 20 very well, but when inside the 20 I thought we weren't very smart."
