MT. PLEASANT, S.C. - A goal by sophomore Tim Masters in the 75th minute gave the UNC-Wilmington men's soccer team a 2-1 win over UCF in the Aaron Olitzky Memorial Classic at Patriot's Point on Saturday afternoon.

UNCW (1-1-0) earned a penalty kick on a controversial call and senior Chris Murray capitalized on the opportunity, scoring in the 13th minute. With just under three minutes remaining in the first half, UCF (0-3-0) tied the match as freshman Jamal Robinson tallied his first collegiate goal with assists to senior Rafael Teixeira and sophomore Chris Andaur.

A long throw that bounced off several players in the box ricocheted off Master in the final 15 minutes of the second half to lift the Seahawks to victory.

The two teams were even in shots at eight a piece. UNCW senior goalkeeper Brad Knighton made two saves in the win, while sophomore Marcus Rein had four for the Golden Knights.

"I was tremendously disappointed that we allowed the game to slip away. After we battled back from the penalty kick to tie at 1-1, I really felt this was a game we could win," said UCF head coach Brent Erwin. "We can learn our lessons from today and get ready for a very difficult game tomorrow."

The Golden Knights return to action on Sunday against tournament host the College of Charleston at 6 p.m.
