Tribble Announces Restructuring of UCF Athletics Association Staff

July 14, 2006

ORLANDO - UCF Director of Athletics Keith R. Tribble announced recenlty the reorganization of staffing in the UCF Athletics Association, including promotions for two staff members as well as several changes to staff responsibilities.

The reorganization is the result of Tribble's initial evaluation of the department and reflects the leadership ideas he outlined when he accepted the position in May.

"We are continuing to build the foundation of this organization to help support and sustain future growth," Tribble said. "These changes will allow us to take advantage of the strengths of the new staff members that have come on board as well as the staff that was in place before my arrival. There is tremendous potential for this organization and this is one step that will help us to reach that potential."

Jessica Reo, the former assistant athletics director for compliance and senior woman administrator (SWA), was promoted to associate athletics director. In her new role, she will remain the SWA and will oversee the compliance office and act as the department liaison to Academic Services for Student-Athletes (ASSA). Reo will also serve as sport administrator for women's basketball, women's rowing, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's tennis, women's volleyball, cross country and women's track and field.

Brad Stricklin, who came on board in the spring as the assistant athletics director for business and finance, was promoted to associate athletics director for business and finance. In addition to his current responsibilities coordinating the association's business endeavors, Stricklin will now serve as sport administrator for the men's and women's golf programs and oversee UCFAA's information technology department.

Hired in June as senior associate athletics director for internal operations, David Hansen continues to manage the internal operations of the department, including human resources and facilities management, while also taking on the duties as sport administrator for the men's basketball, baseball and softball programs.

David Chambers became a member of the staff as the executive associate athletics director earlier this month and is second in command. His main responsibilities are the oversight of the association's day-to-day operations and ensuring integrity in academics and rules compliance. He will also serve as the sport administrator for football.

Longtime administrator Art Zeleznik's title was changed to associate athletics director for support services. In that role, he will oversee the strength and conditioning program, video services, sports medicine, equipment operations and the spirit program as well as being the liaison to the marching band.
