Varsity Lightweight Rowers Head to California

ORLANDO - The UCF women's rowing team will be in action on the West Coast on Saturday when the Golden Knights' varsity lightweight eight boat competes at the Pacific Coast Rowing Championships in Gold River, Calif. UCF will race at 5:30 p.m. Eastern on Lake Natoma.

UCF is currently ranked fifth in the USRowing/Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Lightweight Varsity Eight Poll. In California, the Golden Knights will race against seventh-ranked Stanford, California and Sacramento State.

The Golden Knights will be racing for the final time before competing in the IRA National Championship in June in New Jersey.

The varsity lightweight eight boat has not been in action since April 9 when it raced at the Knecht Cup, also in New Jersey.
