AWENDAW, S.C - Stefan Wistorf fired a 3-under-par 68 Monday as the Golden Knights posted their best round of the year and held their ground at the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate. UCF shot a 2-under-par 282 and remains alone in fourth place heading into Tuesday's final round at the Bulls Bay Golf Club.
Wake Forest continues to lead the 15-team field, while South Carolina is second. The Demon Deacons are at 16-under-par through 36 holes, while the Gamecocks are 6-under-par. Augusta State is in third at 3-under-par, while the Golden Knights are at 3-over-par, three shots ahead of North Carolina. Augusta State made the biggest move of the day. The Jaguars began the day tied for ninth and jumped all the way to third after firing a 15-under-par 269.
Wake Forest's Webb Simpson leads the individual standings at 9-under-par, one shot ahead of Augusta State's Jamie Miller, who shot a 7-under-par 64 Monday. UCF's Sonny Nimkhum is tied for eighth at 1-under-par.
Wistorf made six birdies en route to posting his lowest round in competition this season. His 68 moved him to 2-over-par for the tournament and has him tied for 18th in the individual standings with a large group of golfers that includes teammates Giwon Suh and Kyle Davis. Suh also broke par in the second round with a 1-under-par 70.
Greg Forest is tied for 49th at 6-over-par after shooting a 3-over-par 74 Monday.
