BRADENTON, Fla. - Despite outplaying its opponent, the UCF men's soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss to West Virginia in an exhibition match on Saturday at the IMG Soccer Academy.

The Golden Knights controlled the game and created several opportunities to score. In the first half, freshman Tyler Davis had a long breakaway on WVU's goalkeeper, but was unable to finish on the shot.

Although UCF played solid defense, the Mountaineers capitalized on errors by freshman keeper Bryan Louriero as they got goals from freshman Alex Yost and Andy Wright.

"West Virginia is a great squad and I couldn't be happier with the team's performance. We kept possession of the ball, passed effectively and defended well," said head coach Brent Erwin. "Bryan is a young goalkeeper, who was playing in his first game. The spring season exists so that players can gain experience and Bryan will be better for it."

The Golden Knights continue their spring season with a match against Cincinnati on March 25. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. at the UCF Soccer Complex and admission is free to all fans.
