MAITLAND, Fla. - The UCF women's lightweight rowing squad competed at the Rollins Invitational on Lake Maitland Saturday morning against Rollins, Villanova and Nova Southeastern.
"We were happy with the results of the lightweight eight race against Villanova," UCF lightweight coach Corrie McGrath. "The race was a huge improvement over last weekend's against the Wildcats."
UCF won the lightweight eight race with a time of 7:15.1 compared to Villanova's time of 7:47.3. Racing for the Golden Knights was coxswain Anne Marie Rossi, stroke Lauren Schueler, Lauren Rice, Pamela Wall, Laura Brad, Laura Bacci, Erin Riegel, Megan Mitchell and bow Katie Fulton.
The novice eight boat finished third behind Villanova and Nova Southeastern with a time of 7:42.0, while the four was second with a time of 9:28.0.
The team returns to Lake Maitland next weekend for the Rollins Tri-Meet.
