Two Rowers Compete at Crash-B Indoor World Rowing Championships

ORLANDO - A pair of UCF rowers, Krystina Sarff and Caitlin Pauls, competed at the CRASH-B Indoor World Rowing Championships at Agganis Arena on the campus of Boston University in Boston, Mass. on Saturday.

Competitors raced 2,000 meters on the Concept 2 Model D ergometer. The entrants submitted their most recent 2,000 meter ergometer score for qualifying times.

Sarff, who competed in the Women's Open division, finished 13th out of 333 competitors with a time of 7:05.60. There is no weight restraint for the open division.

Pauls, who competed in the Women's Lightweight division, was 10th out of 120 with a time of 7:25.10. Racers in the women's lightweight division can weigh no more than 135 pounds the day of the competition.

The UCF rowing team begins the 2006 season Saturday. The openweights take on Michigan on the Hillsborough River in Tampa, Fla., while the lightweights race Rollins in Maitland, Fla.
