ORLANDO-The UCF softball team hosts Hofstra in a single game Tuesday, Feb. 21 at Merrill Park in Altamonte Springs, Fla. First pitch is slated for 2:30 p.m. The Golden Knights enter the game with a 6-4 record, while the Pride are 3-0.

Scouting UCF...Junior Amber Lamb paces the Golden Knights offense with a .367 batting average, 11 hits, three runs, one double, two home runs and five RBI. Sophomore Allison Kime has made six appearances in the circle for UCF where she has given up 12 runs on 30 hits with 31 strikeouts. In the field, freshman Breanne Javier has 99 putouts with five assists and one error for a fielding percentage of .990.

Last Time Out...The Golden Knights won the Stetson Tournament in DeLand, Fla. last weekend after going 3-1 for the two days. UCF opened the tournament with wins over Ohio State (2-1 in eight innings) and Stetson (3-1) on Saturday and then defeated the Buckeyes, 8-6 on Sunday before losing to the Hatters, 5-2 in the afternoon. Cici Alvarez was 6-for-14 at the plate with five runs and three RBI, while Lexi Gresham was 2-0 in the circle after giving up five runs on 15 hits and seven strikeouts.

Scouting Hofstra...Courtney Oliver, Pam Dreslinski and Tara Ulrich lead the Pride with identical .444 batting averages after going 4-for-9 at the plate. Dreslinski's four hits have come in the form of three doubles and one triple. She has scored four runs, while Ulrich has hit two doubles and one home run for Hofstra. Kayleigh Lotti leads the pitching staff with a 2-0 record and a 0.00 ERA as she has given up one unearned run on six hits and nine strikeouts in 12 innings. Opponents are only hitting .146 against her.

Last Time Out...The Pride participated in the Wilson Tournament hosted by USF in Tampa, Fla. over the weekend. While there, Hofstra defeated Temple, 10-0, College of Charleston, 5-1, and Florida A&M, 11-3. Tara Ulrich and Pam Dreslinski both went 2-for-4 against the Lady Rattlers Sunday afternoon. Melissa Hodge picked up the win for the Pride, pitching four innings and giving up two runs on three hits and three strikeouts.

Series vs. Hofstra...The Golden Knights lead the all-time series versus the Pride, 2-0. The two teams last met in 2004 when UCF won, 5-4. Rachelle Schmidt went 3-for-4 at the plate with a double, a run and two RBI. Kelly McIntyre was credited with the win after giving up one run on two hits and one strikeout.

Movin' On Up...Cici Alvarez is now tied for second with Stephanie Best in career stolen bases with 47. She is 27 shy of Jania Shinhoster, who sits atop the list with 74.

Pitching/Hitting, She Does `em Both...Freshman Magon Paul was the starting pitcher against Ohio State on Feb. 19 at the Stetson Tournament, where she gave up a solo homer in the top of the first to the Buckeyes. In the bottom half of the inning, Paul responded with a three-run blast of her own to give the Golden Knights control of the game.

Red Hot Cici...Cici Alvarez started all four games at third base for the Golden Knights during the Stetson Tournament where she had four putouts with 17 assists and no errors. At the plate, Alvarez led UCF with a .429 batting average after going 6-for-14 with five runs and three RBI.
