ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - Kacie Feaster hit a triple against Texas Tech to help lead the UCF softball to a 4-1 victory over the Red Raiders in the first game of the day at the Triple Crown Tournament in St. Augustine, Fla. In the nightcap, the SIU Salukis defeated UCF, 7-0.

Amber Lamb was 3-for-6 at the plate for the Golden Knights with one run and one RBI, while Breanne Javier was 3-for-7.

Game One:
The Golden Knights jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Ashley Baker drew a walk scoring Lamb from third.

UCF added two runs in the second on a Feaster RBI triple into right center plating Michelle Newton. Lamb scored Feaster on the next play with a single to third.

In the third, Magon Paul picked up her second hit of the game scoring Ashley Van Ryn.

Texas Tech's bats came alive in the fourth when Brooke Neuman hit a single into left center. She later scored on a Megan Shupp sacrifice fly to center field.

Allison Kime earned her first win of the season pitching the complete game and giving up one run on five hits with five strikeouts. The Red Raiders' Julie Hauck was pegged with the loss after going 5.2 innings and giving up four runs on seven hits.

Game Two:
Southern Illinois took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first when Becky Wegmann laid down a bunt that was misplayed in the field scoring Krystal Stein from second.

The Salukis added a run in the fourth on a single by Lauren Haas to make the score 2-0.

In the fifth, Southern Illinois added four more runs to make the score 6-0. Two runs came off a Jayme Wamsley single to right field, while the other two were from a Katie Louis homer.

The Salukis made the score 7-0 in the sixth when Katie Schmidt hit an RBI double to right center.

Paul was tagged with the loss after six innings of work after giving up seven runs on eight hits with two strikeouts. Cassidy Scoggins went the distance for the Salukis giving up no runs on four hits with five strikeouts.

UCF's final game in the Triple Crown Tournament on Sunday has been cancelled due to travel arrangements by Texas Tech. The Golden Knights return to the diamond Wednesday, Feb. 15 when the squad hosts Bethune-Cookman at Merrill Park in Altamonte Springs, Fla. First pitch is set for 2 p.m.
