DeLAND - The Emilee Klein era at UCF is off to a strong start. Klein, coaching UCF for the first time since being named head coach on Oct. 31, has the Golden Knights in second place after two rounds of play at the Stetson Invitational in DeLand. UCF shot a 36-hole team score of 622, to stand alone in second place, 28 shots behind first-place Campbell (594).
Junior Lauren Motyl leads the event after two rounds of play with an even par score of 144. Motyl shot a three-over par 75 in the first round before turning in the best round of the day by any golfer in the event with a three-under par 69 in the second round. Motyl has a one stroke lead entering Tuesday's final 18 holes.
Two other Golden Knights sit in the top 20 heading into Tuesday's final round. Senior Jess Trein is tied for 10th (157/+13) while freshman Mayule Tamimbang is tied for 19th with a 36-hole total of 161 (+17).
Play finishes Tuesday morning with the final 18 holes of play.
