ORLANDO-The UCF women's soccer team (9-9, 6-1 C-USA) hosts Rice (9-5-1, 5-1-1 C-USA) Friday, Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. and Houston (8-5-2, 3-3-1 C-USA) Sunday, Oct. 30 at 1 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT FOR UCF
The Golden Knights defeated UAB, 2-1, in overtime Sunday in Birmingham, Ala. Shannon Wing scored UCF's first goal in the sixth minute of play when Hanna Wilde sent a shot toward the goal that was misplayed by the goalkeeper. With five minutes to play in the first half, UAB's Nadine Liverpool evened the score at one apiece after sending a shot to the left corner of the net. In the second half, the Blazers threatened to go ahead only to be denied by a diving Kate McCain in the 64th minute. Kristin Bilby passed to Roberta Pelarigo, who netted the game-winning goal in the sixth minute of overtime. UCF was led by Pelarigo, who had eight shots, while Michelle DeCespedes and Wilde were second with three shots each.

TEAM LEADERS FOR UCF
Roberta Pelarigo leads the team in points with 23 (10 goals, 3 assists), while Jennifer Montgomery, Kristin Bilby and Shannon Wing are second with nine points (3 goals, 3 assists) each. Pelarigo also paces the offense with 91 shots. Beth Harless, Jennifer Manis and Julie Snaman have all shared time in the net for the Golden Knights this season. Harless has allowed seven goals with 23 saves, two shutouts and a 0.96 goals-against-average, while Manis has allowed eight goals with 10 saves and a 1.50 GAA and Snaman has allowed five goals with 19 saves and a 0.89 GAA.

The Golden Knights will participate in their first ever Conference USA Championship hosted by Rice Nov. 2-6.

LAST TIME OUT FOR RICE
The Owls defeated UTEP, 3-1, Sunday afternoon in Houston, Texas. Rice struck first in the 25th minute of action when Caitlin Robbins sent a Samantha Conn pass into the net from 15 yards out. With less than five minutes to play in the first half, the Miners tied the score on a Cara Nordin goal. Ashleigh Decker picked up the assist on the score. The Owls broke the 1-1 tie with less than 10 minutes to play in regulation. Robbins scored her second goal of the day on a breakaway play. Four minutes later, Robbins rounded out her hat trick. Rice outshot UTEP, 19-14, while also holding a 9-2 advantage in corner kicks.

TEAM LEADERS FOR RICE
Leading the way for the Owls is Caitlin Robbins who has 27 points (11 goals, 5 assists). Anne Candee paces the squad in shots with 47. Adriene Giese has played goalkeeper in all 15 matches for Rice, allowing 15 goals with 60 saves and a 1.04 GAA.

SERIES NOTE
This will be the first time that UCF and Rice have met on the turf.

LAST TIME OUT FOR HOUSTON
The Cougars defeated Tulane, 2-1, on Sunday afternoon in Houston, Texas. Houston's Sophia Mundy dribbled the ball down the left side of the field to score the first goal of the afternoon at the 36th minute. Jennifer Dry added the Cougars' second goal of the day after Mundy served the ball over the top. With less than six minutes to play in regulation, Tulane's Jessica Mendez went one-on-one with Houston's Stephanie Pucek and was able to get the ball past her. Houston recorded 19 shots to Tulane's six, while also holding a slight advantage in corner kicks (3-2).

TEAM LEADERS FOR HOUSTON
Leading the way for Houston is Sophia Mundy who has 28 points (12 goals, 4 assists) and 86 shots. Stephanie Pucek has played 11 matches in the net for Houston, allowing 11 goals with 42 saves and a 1.09 GAA.

SERIES NOTE
This will be the first time that UCF and Houston have met on the turf.

CLOSING IN ON 100 WINS
UCF head coach Amanda Cromwell is quickly approaching the 100-wins plateau at UCF. Cromwell, now in her seventh season at the helm, is two wins shy of the feat. She was hired in 1999 and has led the Golden Knights to four Atlantic Sun Championships and five NCAA Tournament appearances, advancing to the second round twice. In the inaugural season of Conference USA, Cromwell's team is tied for first going into the final weekend of the regular season.

MOVING UP IN THE RANKINGS
UCF is ranked 15th in the Southeast Region as determined by soccerbuzz.com. The ranking was the first for the Golden Knights since the Sept. 5 poll when the team was ranked eighth.
