BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic's Katri Nokso-Koivisto scored the Owl's lone goal as FAU defeated UCF, 1-0, Sunday afternoon. The Owls improved to 8-3-1 on the season, while the Golden Knights fell to 4-7-0.
"This was a typical FAU-UCF game," head coach Amanda Cromwell said. "We had chances to tie it up and send the game into overtime. We keep turning our momentum on and off but teams are too good. We have to figure out how to get a complete game together."

Jennifer Montgomery paced the Golden Knights in shots with three, while Roberta Pelarigo had two.

The Owls threatened to score a second goal less than 10 minutes after their first only to be denied by UCF defender Jessica Jackson who made a great save in front of the net.
At the end of the match, Florida Atlantic had outshot UCF, 13-10, while both teams were tied in saves with five. Montgomery ended the day with three shots, while Pelarigo and Courtney Baines each had two.
