SKILLMAN, N.J. - The UCF women's tennis team was well represented when the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced its 2005 all-academic teams and scholar-athletes. The Golden Knights were recognized as an ITA All-Academic Team for the fifth consecutive year.
Additionally, three UCF standouts were named ITA Scholar-Athletes. Seniors Kristina Lohmos and Ola Luczak and junior Pam Fernandez were all honored for the third straight season. A student-athlete must have a 3.50 or higher grade point average to be eligible for the award.
In June, the trio, along with three other teammates garnered Atlantic Sun Conference All-Academic honors. Lohmos and Luczak concluded their college careers this past spring.
Under head coach Patricia Allison, UCF players have been named ITA Scholar-Athletes on 34 occasions.
In order to achieve ITA All-Academic Team status, a program must have a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or above. Overall, the Golden Knights have earned six team academic honors from the ITA.
