Rowing Finishes Sixth among Regional Opponents at Sprints

OAKRIDGE, Tenn. - The UCF women's rowing team placed sixth among South Region opponents at the Aramark South/Central Sprints on Sunday. Virginia was first with Tennessee in second and Clemson in third.

The Varsity Eight of Caitlin Pauls, Kyla Smith, Tanya Kleisler, Melissa Westhoff, Amy Price, Krystina Sarff, Katherine Motes, Mary Rosser and coxswain Lisa Beltran took sixth in the petite final to rank 12th overall and fourth in the South Region on the weekend. The boat posted a time of 6:42.93.

In the Novice Eight petite final, the crew of Kayla Reiff, Erin Riegel, Vanessa Santana, Jessica Lorne, Laurel Elmore, Megan Kranz, Katrina Gavette, Katie Fulton and cox Jennifer Brooks placed third in a time of 7:17.27. The effort ranked the Knights in 10th overall.

Meanwhile, in the third final of their respective events, the UCF Varsity Four took second and the Junior Varsity Eight was third.

Results from Saturday's Dad Vail were also made available. The UCF Lightweight Eight came in fourth at 7:44.6 in the grand final of its event.
