MIAMI LAKES - The UCF women's golf team finished play at the Ryder Florida Collegiate Cup Sunday with a 6th-place showing. The Golden Knights shot a final round 26-over-par 320, and finished sixth of 14 teams with a three day total of 946 at the Don Shula's Golf Resort in Miami Lakes.
Host Miami led wire-to-wire finishing with a 54-hole total of 912, and held off Florida State and USF for a one stroke victory. Rollins and Florida International rounded out the top five. The Golden Knights finished six strokes behind FIU, and 15 strokes ahead of Nova Southeastern for sixth place overall.
UCF was led by junior Ashley Grier who fired a 6-over par 78 for the second straight day. Grier's 78 today moved her up three spots into a four-way tie for 13th. This is the second straight weekend that Grier has finished in the top 20 individually of a tournament.
Senior Livia Jakobsson shot a final round of 83, and ended up in a three-way tie for 27th, while sophomore Holly Boot rebounded from a disappointing round on Saturday with a round of 80 finishing tied for 30th.
The Golden Knights next stop is the Atlantic Sun Championship at the Victoria Hills Country Club in DeLand. UCF is familiar with the course participating in the Hatter Classic during the fall season back in October. First round action of the A-Sun Championship starts on Monday, April 11.
