MIAMI LAKES - The UCF women's golf team is in fourth place after 18 holes of play at the Ryder Florida Collegiate Cup Friday afternoon at the Don Shula's Golf Resort in Miami Lakes. The Golden Knights shot an opening round score of 304, 10 shots off the pace from first round leader and host Miami.
Sophomore Holly Boot led UCF with a 2-over par 74 to start play on Friday. Boot is in a four-way tie for eighth place overall. Junior Ashley Grier and senior Livia Jakobsson shot dueling 4-over par 76, and are tied for 14th overall.
The course played extremely tough today giving up only five rounds of golf at even or under par.
Play continues tomorrow morning, while the final round of play is slated for Sunday. UCF is one stroke ahead of Rollins, while the Golden Knights trail USF by seven strokes for third place.
