Men's Golf Moves Into Second in Tallahassee

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - With the help of a 3-under-par 69 by Andreas Hoegberg and a 1-under-par 71 by Preston Brown, UCF carded a team total 1-over-par 289 Monday and moved into second place after two rounds of the Seminole Intercollegiate at Golden Eagle Country Club.

UCF began the day tied for fourth and trails Coastal Carolina by eight shots heading into Tuesday's final round. The Golden Knights are at 8-over-par as a team. Coastal Carolina began the day with a three stroke lead and extended that lead with a 3-under-par 285. Vanderbilt is in third at 13-over, followed by host Florida State at 15-over-par. Texas A&M and Virgina are one stroke behind the Seminoles.

Hoegberg is tied for second with Virginia's Kevin O'Connell at 4-under-par for the tournament, four shots behind Coastal Carolina's Rhys Davies. Davies, along with teammate Lindsay Renolds posted the low rounds of the tournament Tuesday with 5-under-par 67s.

Brown began the day tied for 20th and moved into a tie for 12th. He will enter the final round at 1-over-par. Ben Leong shot a 1-over-par 73 and is tied for 27th at 5-over-par, while Chris Anderson shot 76 and moved up three spots into a tie for 43rd at 9-over. Giwon Suh dropped from a tie for 20th into a tie for 60th at 15-over-par after posting an 85 Monday.
