Andreas Hoegberg peaked at the end of the 2003-04 season and is poised to have a strong senior campaign. He is a strong technical player who performs well in tough conditions. He will be looked to for leadership with UCF[apos]s young lineup.
As a Junior (2003-04): Hoegberg posted the second-lowest scoring average on the team at 73.05 and finished with a team-high seven top-10 finishes. He was named to the Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team and also earned a spot of the Atlantic Sun All-Academic Team. He peaked at the end of the year, finishing in a tie for sixth at the NCAA West Regional in Sunriver, Ore. He would up one shot shy of advancing to the NCAA Finals as an individual. He also posted a tie for sixth at the Cardinal Intercollegiate in Louisville, Ky. He carded his low round of the year at the Fall Beach Classic in Gulf Shores, Ala, when he fired a 5-under-par 67 in the second round and helped UCF to a school-record 17-under-par 271. He earned A-Sun All-Tournament honors by placing in a tied for eighth.
As a Sophomore (2002-03): Hoegberg finished third on the team with a stroke-average of 74.41. He also excelled in the classroom, earning a spot on the Atlantic Sun All-Academic Team. He recorded his best finish of the year when he tied for third at the UCF/Rio Pinar Intercollegiate with a 3-under-par total of 213. His low round of the year was a 4-under-par 68 in the final round of the UCF/Rio Pinar Intercollegiate. He recorded two top-10s and six top-20 finishes on the year. He finished fourth at the season-opening Hillman Robbins Memorial Intercollegiate in Memphis, Tenn.
As a Freshman (2001-02): Hoegberg finished the 2001-02 campaign as UCF[apos]s top golfer with a stroke-average of 74.34. He was named to the Atlantic Sun All-Freshman Team and the Atlantic Sun All-Academic Team. He was UCF[apos]s top finisher in a total of six tournaments and his best finish came at the UCF/Rio Pinar Intercollegiate, where he placed in a tie for sixth. He tied for the team lead with one top-10 and three top-20 finishes.
Pror to UCF: Hoegberg was a member of the team Sollentuna Golf Club, which was ranked as the third-best team in Sweden. He also played on the Swedish National Boy[apos]s team during the 1999-2000 year and the amateur team last year in 2000-01.
Personal: Andreas Hoegberg was born May 17, 1982 in Sollentuna, Sweden, and is the son of Agnetha and Kennet Hoegberg. He is a marketing major.
