ORLANDO - When the UCF women's tennis team hosts Marquette in its regular season home finale on Monday at the UCF Tennis Complex, the Golden Knights (8-7) will pay tribute to seniors Kristina Lohmos and Ola Luczak. A presentation to commemorate Senior Day takes place prior to the first serve at 1:30 p.m.
One of this year's co-captains, Lohmos came to Orlando as a freshman in 2001. In her four years with the Knights, she has collected 68 wins - an effort that ties for seventh on the school's all-time list. Lohmos earned Atlantic Sun Second Team honors last season after going 16-8. She is also a three-time Atlantic Sun All-Academic Team member and was named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athlete.
During the current season, Lohmos has twice earned conference player of the week honors. She has a 6-6 record a No. 1 singles and has owns a seven-match winning streak with doubles partner Kyla McNicol.
Luczak, meanwhile, joined the Knights after transferring from Kentucky prior to the 2002-03 season. Since then, she has pulled together a record of 38-36 in singles matches while playing in the middle of the lineup. Luczak has twice been named to the Atlantic Sun All-Academic Team and was also an ITA Scholar-Athlete in 2003.
This season, Luczak has a 7-14 record with most of her matches being played at the No. 3 position.
The Golden Knights will be looking for a win against the Golden Eagles (3-11) to give them confidence as they head into their final conference match of the regular season. UCF heads to Stetson on April 1 before meeting Rollins in an exhibition match in Orlando on April 8.
The Atlantic Sun Conference Championship begins on April 15 in DeLand.
