A-Sun Names Dee Brown Player of the Week

Macon, Ga. - UCF outfielder Dee Brown earned Atlantic Sun Baseball Player of the Week honors as named by the league office on Monday. Brown batted .500 on the week to lead UCF to a three-game sweep of Campbell.

Brown, of Brooksville, Fla., led the Golden Knights offense as he batted .500 on the week with four home runs. In the A-Sun series opener against Campbell, Brown was 2-for-5 with two runs and a home run. In game two, he set a career high with six RBI and two home runs to lead UCF to an 18-0 victory. In game three, Brown went 2-for-4 with a solo home run. He batted 8-for-16 on the week with 10 RBI and nine runs scored. Brown now has 180 career RBI, 10th best in A-Sun history. Brown raised his batting average nearly .100 percentage points this past week as he now stands at .282 with a team-leading 22 RBI. The weekly honor is Brown's fifth in his four-year career in the A-Sun.

The Golden Knights moved up four spots in the latest Collegiate Baseball Top 30 poll Monday, moving into the No. 22 spot. The ranking is the highest of the season for UCF in the poll.

UCF returns to action Tuesday vs. Columbia at Jay Bergman Field. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
