The only Knight in history to hit a home run and score a touchdown in the same season, Brown was a stellar two-sport star for the Black and Gold.
On the diamond, Brown was selected in the 10th Round of the 2005 MLB Draft by Washington and played six seasons of professional ball. While with the Knights, he helped UCF win a pair of A-Sun titles and advance to two NCAA Regionals.
Brown received numerous accolades in his career, including being named a 2002 Baseball America and Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American, the 2002 A-Sun Freshman of the Year and was a three time member of the All-A-Sun First Team. He also was on the 2004 A-Sun All-Tournament Team and the 2004 NCAA Regional All-Tournament Team.
For his career, he entered the HOF ranked as the all-time UCF record-holder for hits with 298, RBI with 229 and sac flies (27), and ranked fourth in games (239), third in at-bats (866), third in runs (182), ninth in home runs (26), fourth in total bases (444) and sixth in hit by pitches (45).
In single-season history, Brown's .397 average in 2002 ranked eighth at UCF. He crushed 18 homers and 71 RBI in 2005, good for third and sixth, respectively, and he was first with 11 sac flies in 2004.
On the gridiron, Brown served as a fullback, tailback and linebacker, playing in 34 games in three seasons, rushing 64 times as a fullback for 303 yards for a 4.7 average. He also rushed for four touchdowns, and posted 170 rushing yards on 36 carries in 2002. Brown chipped in 35 receptions for 335 yards and two touchdowns, which included 25 catches in 2003. Brown boasted 18 tackles for the Knights as well.
