MURRELLS INLET, S.C. - The play of freshman Chris Anderson was the only bright spot for the Golden Knights Sunday as UCF posted rounds of 301 and 300 and is in ninth place at 25-over-par heading into Monday's final round of the General Jim Hackler Invitational at the TPC of Myrtle Beach.

Host Coastal Carolina is 6-over-par (582) for the tournament leads the 12-team event by four shots over Purdue (586). Kansas State is third (591), followed by Notre Dame (593) and UNC-Wilmington (597).

Anderson opened with an even-par 72 in the morning and followed that with a 2-over-par 74 in the afternoon and is alone in ninth place at 2-over-par 146. Rhys Davies or East Tennessee, Dustin Johnson of Coastal Carolina and Shane Sigsbee of Notre Dame are tied for the lead at 1-under-par 143.

Fellow UCF freshman Preston Brown is tied for 20th at 5-over-par, followed by first-year players Giwon Suh, tied for 33rd at 8-over-par, and Ben Leong, tied for 47th at 12-over-par. Senior Andreas Hoegberg, UCF's leader in stroke average this season, struggled with rounds of 78 and 79 Sunday and is tied for 49th at 13-over-par.
